Radiation Meters

GeigerGraph Software

The GeigerGraph software works with the Radalert 100, Inspector Alert, and Inspector EXP. It receives each pulse or count from the instrument through the data cable, and displays and graphs the Current reading, an Average, and Minimum and Maximum counts per minute (CPM) over the test period.

You can order the GeigerGraph software as an option when you buy the Radalert 100 or Inspector Alert.

The GeigerGraph software is useful for continuous monitoring of environmental radiation. It alerts you to any elevated levels relative to your typical background count. The software gives an audible and visual alert whenever the CPM exceed a user-determined level. For example, in the picture above, the radiation level increases to above the user-set Alert Level of 100 CPM halfway through the test period, and the software issues a visual alert.

Features:

  • Runs on any PC with Windows 95 or higher. Minimum system requirements: Pentium Processor 200MHz, CD-ROM drive, available serial port, 16MB RAM (more recommended), 1MB hard drive space, and high color (16 bit) display.
  • Can run in the background, and notify you only if the radiation level exceeds your pre-set Alert Level.
  • Saves the radiation count data every minute to a text file that can be exported to a spreadsheet program such as Excel or Lotus for further analysis.
  • Includes a simulation that mimics the recording and graphing of radiation counts without a Geiger counter. The simulation demonstrates the program, graphing normal background radiation followed by an elevated radiation count from a simulated radioactive "event" that exceeds the alert level.
  • Includes a data cable with a 3.5 mm stereo plug that plugs into the geiger counter's dual miniature jack. The output at the tip of the plug provides a positive 5 volt pulse each time the Geiger counter detects a count. The other end of the data cable is a 9 pin RS-232 connector for an IBM PC compatible serial port.
  • Comes on a CD-ROM which the user installs on the computer's hard drive, so the CD can be removed after installation for running of the program.

RadAlert 100 Geiger Counter

The Radalert 100 is a general purpose geiger counter that measures alpha, beta, gamma, and x-radiation. Exciting new features of the Radalert 100 — as an upgraded version of the popular Radalert 50 — include a three-second update and a utility menu that allows you to change the default settings for several operating parameters. Its digital liquid crystal display (LCD) shows the current radiation level in your choice of milliroentgens per hour from .001 to 110 or counts per minute (cpm) from 0 to 350,000. When SI units are selected, the LCD shows readings in microsieverts per hour from .01 to 1100 or counts per second (cps) from 0 to 3,500. This instrument also offers an accumulated total and timer function, up to 9,999,000 counts and 40 hours. A red LED blinks and a beeper chirps with each count (the chirp can be muted). An audible alert sounds when the radiation reaches a user-adjustable level. The Radalert 100 meets CE certification requirements for Europe.

Use the Radalert 100™ to:

  • Monitor personal radiation exposure
  • Monitor an area or perimeter
  • Detect radiation leaks and contamination
  • Ensure regulatory compliance
  • Monitor changes in background radiation
  • Demonstrate principles of nuclear physics
  • Check for radioactive minerals in the earth

Inspector Alert Radiation Meter

Handheld Surface Contamination Meter

The Inspector Alert measures alpha, beta, gamma and x-radiation using a 2-inch "pancake" GM detector with high sensitivity to common beta and alpha sources.

The easy-to-read digital display shows readings in your choice of mR/hr, CPM, CPS, or µS/hr. The Total/Timer feature allows timed readings from one minute to 24 hours for precise measurement of low level contamination. An audible alert sounds when the radiation reaches a user-adjustable level.

  • Quickly alerts first responders to the presence of harmful levels of nuclear radiation
  • Improves safety in the laboratory and in the field
  • Automatically compensates for GM tube dead time
  • Will not jam in high radiation fields
  • Meets CE certification requirements for Europe
